How to Detect a Water Leak

There is so much water running through your home and so many opportunities for undetected water leaks. Small or even tiny water leaks can cause a lot of damage and cost a lot to eventually repair as they can go for long periods before anyone detects them. Here are some tips to help you know whether you have a hidden water leak than needs to be repaired.
1. YOUR WATER BILL: Most people know what their water bill usually runs. If you notice a sudden increase in bill for no reason and it continues you may have a leak.
A few things could tip you off that you have a water leak. Have you noticed a damp, musty smell somewhere in the house? Have you found any discolored or sagging walls, ceilings or floors? Have you found mold in your home? Or have you simply just noticed a spike in the water bill? Any of these are good indications that you have a water leak somewhere in your home.  If your find the source of your leak you need to call a plumber. If you find damage from the water such as mold, mildew, or sagging walls then it may be time to call a water restoration company to repair the damage.
